Surviving

Wonderful Thing means that I'm glad that I'm in this life. Trading it or ending it changes too much of what I cherish about it.

I was looking at a picture of myself staring back at me. It's a clear picture taken by holding the camera out in my arms to catch my image. The colors are nice and the subject matter (me) is clear. You can't see too much of where I pick pick pick. I appear slender because the clavicles are emphasized. The smile is what gets me. It looks happy on first glance. Then it begins to twist and you can tell it isn't sincere. Finally, it takes on an aura of unhappiness. I'm not necessarily unhappy, but neither am I happy. I'm surviving in the limbo of no-man's-land where I'm still able to smile. Sort of.
